About the Instructor
David Thornton
I have been teaching students English at different age and different levels (from beginners to proficient speakers) for eighteen years. I lived and worked in four different countries, which has allowed me to engage many different cultures and teach in many different environments. People describe me as having excellent rapport with my classes and being able to adapt to any teaching situation. I believe in communication teaching and encouragement my students to be active and talkative in class by preparing activities that get them to speak in a natural fashion. I pride myself on personalizing my lesson plans based around students’ individual learning styles and needs and I think that my background in applied and theoretical linguistics allows me to do this thoroughly and professionally.
